The House has started hearings on reparations. We can see the dialectic working. The thesis is that most of the problems of the black community, especially racial inequity, have results from the residue of slavery. This thesis is presented – I argue – by the black con and the progressive con (which seems to be the majority of the Democratic party).
The anti-thesis is presented by the Republicans, the black libertarians and black conservatives.
As usual, the black con argues that virtually all the dysfunction in the black community – for instance 70% illegitimacy rate, 400,000 abortions a year, and 17 mostly black-on-black murders in St. Louis last weekend (June 14 to June 17, 2019.) They talk about how the country must face the truth about how whites have treated blacks – especially slavery – and how whites (who will pay over 90% of the reparations, that is, the taxes) have to live up to their moral obligation.
Against all evidence – look what has happened in the last 60 years with crime and black unemployment – they argue that if whites give blacks enough money, and pass more affirmative action laws, racial disparity and racial conflict will disappear. The whole country will be better off.
